The Tea: The Talk
by Alicia Crespin

Honest stories. Real conversations. Helping parents break the stigma around “the talk.” Talking to your kids about sex, consent, and growing up shouldn’t feel impossible—but for many parents, it still does. The Tea The Talk is not advice from doctors or therapists. It’s a collection of real stories from moms who’ve navigated the awkward, funny, and sometimes scary moments of having the sex talk with their kids.

The Why
We sugarcoat a lot and we say generalized statements without detail and insight. We get uncomfortable speaking the truth. We google things to get answers, read books, follow influencers, but sometimes that doesn't suffice.
Sometimes we want REAL examples. I wanted that before I gave the talk to my daughter. I needed this and I couldn't find it, so I decided to do something about it. I interviewed over 40 brave moms and heard their stories to be able to share with you. You are not alone.
Who Should Read This?
What should I expect?
Anything Else?
What should I expect? Uncomfortable, authentic conversation. You'll read over interviews of women ages 18-70 spilling the tea on the sex talk. You'll hear if they got the talk and how it impacted them and if they are moms, how they gave the talk or didn't. We talk about our first time, regrets, wishes and our feelings.
Who should read this? Definitely women! Mothers (and dads) of elementary-aged children. Women advocates, friends, aunts, grandmothers. Essentially, if you want real stories of women about the sex talk and advice on how to give it, then you should read it. Probably not good for teens under 16 as there is quite a bit about sex.
Anything else? Yes! I am taking a leap of faith. I am not an author. I am a businesswoman, but I felt this overwhelming urge to get these stories out. To bring the uncomfortable to the forefront. To ask the questions everyone is thinking but scared to say out loud. To make the taboo, less taboo. I believe it's our duty as parents to be the child's first learning about sex.
